Mikayla Long
Hey! My name is Mikayla. I am a licensed and board certified music therapist and local Maryland musician!
I am currently finishing up my Masters of Music Therapy at Temple University. I graduated with my Bachelors in Music Therapy from Temple University. I also currently holds a certification in Neurologic Music Therapy.
My primary instrument is voice, but I love to play guitar, piano and percussion (and even some ukulele).
In regards to music therapy, I have clinical experience in behavioral health with all ages, school-based music therapy, older adults in memory care/medical settings, end of life care, as well as teaching music lessons.
I truly believe in a very authentic, neuro-affirming, diversity-affirming and cooperative therapeutic space. I believe in creating not only a safe space, but a brave one for individuality, self-expression and creativity.
Originally from New Jersey, I am thrilled to be working and bringing my music to Maryland. In my spare time I love to build legos, write songs, create art (especially mandalas) and hang out with my partner and pets!
